Man holding Green Meadows beef box

How it started

It all started in 2012 with an idea grazed upon in the rolling hills nestled below Mount Taranaki and beside the Taungatara Stream on the West Coast of New Zealand–Green Meadows. Or, as we like to call it–home.

The Idea? To deliver Premium 100% Grass-fed Angus Beef directly to families across New Zealand. And, we set out to do just that.

Proudly farming our land in Coastal Taranaki for over 120 years, with roots tracing back three generations and spanning 420 acres–we knew we had all the means to create something great.

The (not so) little slice of paradise created the perfect environment for our Angus Steers – courtesy of Mother Nature herself. The lush green grass grown in rich volcanic soil,  lightly salted by the Tasman sea gives our beef superior flavour, colour and texture.

And, don’t forget the most spectacular view!

Fast-forward to now

Today, we service an award-winning online and export business and local Butchery store here in Taranaki–where it all began.

We work directly with a number of like-minded distributors across 7 countries across the world, who share similar values and goals to us around mindful consumption for our consumers and sustainable farming practices.

Our mission remains the same, to deliver Grass-Fed Angus Beef straight from our farm to families across New Zealand.

From farm to plate

Here at Green Meadows our beef is farmed with passion, and with pride. We are focused entirely on the welfare of our animals and our land – which go hand in hand.

Our 100% Grass-fed Angus steers do more than just eat grass, they contribute to the overall health of the soil on the farm - without even trying!

Through grazing, their manure enriches the soil with nutrients, while their hooves aerate it for better water absorption. Their manure acts as a potent natural fertiliser, improving soil structure and fostering biodiversity, building a thriving ecosystem and pristine environment for our Angus steers and beyond, for years to come.

Never more than 80m from a trough of refreshing, fresh drinking water from the local community water schemes – we can confidently promise that our steers have the space to roam free, graze happily and grow naturally.

Fully transparent, fully traceable and full of love.
