Product Details

Eye Fillet steak is widely considered the best steak on a beef animal. Featured on restaurant menus around the world, enjoy this dense and lean steak. Located on the back half of the animal, the Tenderloin is connected to the Striploin (where sirloin steak comes from). Left together, and cut with the bone in, is a t-bone steak.

Michael Van de Elzen's must-try list:
-Sear the fillet whole on the BBQ and then season generously with salt, close the BBQ lid and continue cooking to an internal temperature of 55 degrees (using a meat thermometer), and allow to rest before serving.
-BBQ in steaks and serve with bernaise sauce
-Try in a classic beef wellington
-Wrap the fillet in bacon, cook and top wiith creamy mushrooms

Cooking Tips

Our single barrel pieces offer great flexibility. Cut into steaks at your desired thickness or sear in a hot skillet or on a BBQ and finish with the lid down or in the oven. Ideal as a mini roast and sliced thinly. Cook to medium rare.
